Gerard Millman Doc.Cinematographer | Video Production Specialist

2024 Demo Reel
Born and raised in Bellingham, Washington, Gerard had two major passions: music and paintball. When he wasn’t rocking stadiums in drumlines or rock bands, he was in the muddy battlefields of GoBig Paintball park, aiming down the barrel of a camera.
At 19 he pursued a career in music production audio engineering with a dream of performing guitar on stage, shredding solos in rock bands on both the grimy and glamorous stages of Seattle.
Then Covid happened.
So he filmed paintball in Snohomish County Washington. There he built Rated "PB" For Everyone, a multimedia sports outlet that covered the tournament paintball series of the Pacific Northwest. His grassroots project led to sponsorship deals with his podcasts, and increased player attendance for the paintball parks, increasing their revenue.
UNC Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media recognized Gerard’s work and invited him to enroll. In 2022, he sold his belongings and moved across the country to study documentary journalism.
Within a year of his enrollment, he co-produced Heart and Sol, a gripping short-documentary that follows the solar revolution of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. The film was recognized by the most prestigious awards in collegiete video journalism, and additionally, was created for a larger multimedia project that covered Puerto Rico called "Isla De Fuerza", which won the Gold Medal at the Anthem Awards.
Gerard seeks out stories that twist the viewer's heart and mind, that speak to the darkness of life met with the spirit to overcome any obstacle. His collegiate swan song BULLRING exemplifies his commitment to excellence in his craft of cinematic documentary storytelling, earning a spot in the top 5 short documentaries at the 79th College Photographer of the Year awards and 4th place in the Hearst Awards.
After graduation, he joined Alex & Leila Hormozi's media team to document the struggles of building a $1 Billion business. During his time on the team he produced numerous short-documentary episodes of Leila Hormozi's life as CEO and contributed to breaking a Guinness World Record for fastest selling non-fiction book of all time.
