“Bullring” follows 16-year-old racing prodigy Carson Haislip into his rookie year
competing in the NASCAR late model regional series at Wake County Speedway.
This project was awarded the 2024 Rich Beckman Documentary Award
from UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media.

The Trumpet Monk
"The Trumpet Monk" is the story of Chris, a man who left his life of luxury
as a musician in high-society China for a life of spirituality and aestheticism.
This film explores Chris' attempt to rebuild his relationship with music
to be used to spread joy rather than acquire fame or riches.
The film is part of an award-winning multimedia project called "The Tale of The Trumpet Monk",
which goes deeper into Chris' life and character.

Heart & Sol
"Heart & Sol" follows the people of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and their efforts to achieve
electrical independence from the island's unstable power grid
by creating a micro-solar grid for their community.
I and one other videographer storyboarded, filmed, and edited this film.
It won the 78th CPOY Award of Excellence in the Team Project category.
This film was part of a larger journalistic multimedia project called Isla De Fuerza,
which won the gold medal at the 3rd Anthem Awards.

Home of the Brave
"Home of the Brave" is the story of Andrew Modica. After serving in the U.S. Army for 20 years,
Andrew returned home to Kentucky on his journey to reintegrate with his family and civilian life.
This film was produced for the 2024 WKU Mountain Workshops in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Participants of the workshops were assigned a random story idea
and were tasked with creating a short film in five days.

Warrior
"Warrior" is the story of Cayla Young, a survivor of domestic violence.
Young escaped her abusive marriage and has since
rebuilt herself and her family by training in mixed martial arts.
This project was part of the 2023 UNC Carolina Photojournalism Workshop
in Henderson County, North Carolina.
Participants were tasked with finding a story idea and creating a character-driven film in one week.
